Save the Date Stationery

With unique typographic detailing and distinctive textures I was delighted to shine light on this beautiful range of wedding stationery.

Michelle and I spoke on several occasions to discuss her brand, the wedding stationery itself, and what makes it unique. She bases her collections upon people in her life who she has found inspirational. Featuring unique typography, charming illustrations, and printed upon textured paper stocks. After discussing this we decided upon various shot types to represent the collections and capture the essence of the brand.

Most shoots proceed in this collaborative way, spending time to understand the client and their work. Considering how best to proceed with props, settings, and lighting.

You’ve received something a little different in the post today, it certainly doesn’t fit in with the rest of the post, it’s not a bill and it isn’t something to throw away.

Wedding invitations are much more than a way of simply providing information to guests, they are designed to be an experience from the very moment they’re opened. This is the reason why wedding stationery designers put so much thought and attention to detail into their creations. Invitations give a flavour of the day to come, to be emotive, and to announce the special day in an equally special way. All of which I endeavour to pick up upon within my photography. Flatlays were carefully layered to show the best of each piece, whilst providing a flavour of the full suite of stationery.

Table settings were replicated using fabrics, and a pale rustic wooden plan that I have salvaged and bleached. They were created to give an impression of how the stationery would look during the day itself.

Real flowers definitely add a ‘certain something’ that’s difficult to replicate using faux versions. Michelle organised these herself from Bloom and Wild, a letterbox flower delivery service.

Michelle believes that the images were instrumental in her becoming a listing supplier to a venue, “I think having professional photography has really been the driving force behind this.”
