Dichroic Glass Photography
Quirky and colourful designs handmade in fused glass, styled and captured in my studio.
After meeting Ann a few years back at Harrogate Home and Gift Fayre it’s been great to work with her time and again. Ann’s quirky personality is reflected beautifully in her work, originally based upon Dragonflies. This is where her business name ‘Dragonfly Dichroic’ originates. Now drawing inspiration from the sea and coast incorporating elements like fish, puffins, and wales. And including Scottish influences such as thistles, crofters cottages, and Celtic symbols.
Most pieces are photographed in a simple flatlay manner from overhead, on a rustic painted background. I incorporate a variety of props relating to the design of the piece, like driftwood or beach pebbles. Or the occasion that the piece may be celebrating, such as Christmas or Valentines Day.
Based in Central Scotland, in the village of Clackmannan, Ann creates quirky designs from her garden studio. Her award winning designs, are simple but striking and each piece is cut by hand ensuring no two pieces are identical.
